There can be little doubt that Abraham occupies a special place on the pages of the Holy Scriptures.

Over 300 times we find the name of Abraham (or Abram) in the Bible. Not only is a significant chunk of the book of Genesis devoted to his biography (much of chapters 12 – 25) but many other books of the Bible mention the patriarch as well.

The OT mentions him in all five books of the Pentateuch, in Joshua, 2 Kings, 1 Chr., Nehemiah, Psalms, Isaiah, Ezekiel and Micah. The NT mentions Abraham in Matthew, Luke, John, in the Acts as well as in the Epistles to the Romans, the Galatians, and the Hebrews, as well as in by James and (First) Peter.

This makes 22 books overall, 13 in the OT and 9 in the NT.
